Club Brugge will play host to Osasuna in the second leg of their Europa Conference League playoff tie at Jan Breydelstadion on Thursday night. The hosts claimed a 2-1 victory in the first leg in Spain last week thanks to second-half efforts from Andreas Skov Olsen and Maxim de Cuyper either side of Ezequiel Avila’s 78th-minute equaliser. Having competed in the Champions League group stage in each of the last five seasons, Blau-Zwart had to settle for a Conference League this season, while the La Liga outfit are aiming to earn a spot in the group stage of a UEFA competition for only the second time in their history.

Club Brugge headed into the first leg of their playoff tie at Iberostar Stadium on the back of a five-game wining run across all competitions and the Belgian Pro League club managed to extend their hot streak despite having less than 50% of ball possession and recording just four shots when compared to 17 by the La Liga side. The result extended Boerne’s wining run to six matches in all competitions, scoring an astonishing 25 goals and conceding just four times in the process. Blue-Black have not played since last week’s first leg and will be confident of claiming another victory after beating the likes of Aarhus 3-0 and KA 5-1 in their previous two home-fixtures in the Conference League.
Osasuna, on the other hand, are heading into the match on the back of a 2-1 La Liga-win over Valencia on Sunday. Los Rojillos secured all three points against los Che at Mestalla, thanks to Aimar Oroz’s 24th-minute opener from the penalty spot and Ignacio Miralles’ dramatic winner five minutes into the injury time. Having won both of their opening two away top flight games, the Little Reds will be confident about turning this around in Belgium on Thursday and thereby securing a place in the group stage of a continental competition for the first time in almost 16 years.
