Celta Vigo came-from-behind to earn a point against Sevilla, thanks to two late efforts from Miguel Rodriguez and Gonzalo Paciencia. It was their second consecutive 2-2 draw, the previous one coming against Almeria at the start of this month. The Sky Blues have recorded nine league-wins this season and their latest success came away to Espanyol (3-1) last month just before the international break. Carlos Carvajal’s side took all three points against Espanyol courtesy of goals from Gabri Veiga, Iago Aspas and Carles Perez. Los Celeste have lost only one of their last ten games, while winning five in the process.
Mallorca, on the other hand, are winless in their last six outings, losing three in that period. Their last success came against Villarreal (4-2) in February courtesy of Dani Rodriguez’s brace and one goal each from Tino Kadewere and Vedat Muriqi. Last time out, Javier Aguirre’s side earned a point against Valladolid thanks to Vedat Muriqi’s brace and one goal from Manu Morlanes. Although the Pirates are sitting seven points clear of the drop zone, Aguirre will feel that his needs to get back to winning ways as soon as possible in order to finish in the top half of the table. On a positive note, Mallorca secured a narrow 1-0 win over Celta Vigo in the reverse fixture in January through Rodriguez’s effort on the hour-mark.
