Bosnia-Herzegovina will host Romania in a UEFA Nations League fixture at Bilino Polje on Tuesday night. Both sides are heading into the match one the back of some not so good results. Bosnia played out a 1-1 draw against Finland in the previous game while Romania were beaten 2-0 at Montenegro in their last outing. Therefore both nations are under pressure ahead of the Group B3 showdown in Zenica. Meanwhile both countries have faced each other four times before and Romania clearly has a better head-to-head record having won three of those encounters while the hosts won once. The previous meeting between the two sides took place in 2011 and ended in a 3-0 win for Romania.

Bosnia are clearly struggling since the resumption of international football in September 2020, having won just three times in almost two years. However, the Dragons have managed to earn draws against the likes of Italy, Netherlands and France. On Saturday, Ivaylo Petev’s side needed an injury-time equalizer from Smail Prevljak to earn a point after Finland had taken the lead through Teemu Pukki. A return to home turf provides Bosnia with an opportunity to build some momentum.

Romania on the other hand, have made themselves tough to beat in the last couple of months. In the last nine months, the Tricolours have suffered just three defeats in their 10 games across all competitions. One of those defeats came at Montenegro last week. Goals from Stefan Mugosa and Marko Vukcevic earned three points for the home side, leaving Romania at the bottom of the group ahead of another away trip. Meanwhile, Edward Lordanescu’s side haven’t conceded more than twice in their last 12 games.

Probable Lineups

Bosnia-Herzegovina have a fully-fit squad at their disposal and will likely field their best team this week. Miralem Pjanic and Rade Krunic should retain their spots in the midfield and flank respectively. Veteran striker Eden Dzeko will be the target-man up front.

As for Romania, Lulian Cristea picked up a knock last week and has been ruled out of this fixture. Alexandru Cretu is in line to feature in a defensive-midfield role, while Alexandru Maxim could also come into the midfield.

Bosnia-Herzegovina probable starting lineup: Sehic, Gazibegovic, Hadzikadunic, Ahmedhodzic, Kolasinac, Prcic, Hadziahmetovic, Pjanic, Stevanovic, Dzeko, Krunic

Romania Probable starting Lineup: Nita, Ratiu, Rus, Churches, Bancu, Maxim, Cretu, Marin, Ivan, Alibec, Mihaila
