Real Madrid, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain had a lot of reasons to celebrate from their recently concluded campaigns. AC Milan won their first Serie A title in 11 years, while PSG got back the Ligue 1 crown from Lille. Out of all, Real Madrid had the best season, winning La Liga and a record-extending 14th Champions League trophy. Beyond their individual success, all three clubs also had a unique similarity. At the end of the season, all three clubs’ points total, wins and losses in their respective leagues were startlingly similar. Let us take a closer look at the numbers.

Real Madrid

The Spanish champions clinched a fantastic double. They won the La Liga title with little difficulty, as other teams struggled to keep up pace with them. Then they ended the season by winning a historic 14th Champions League title against Liverpool. Going back to the league, Real Madrid secured 86 points from 38 games, winning 26, drawing eight and losing four. Their goal difference was 49, as they scored 80 goals and conceded only 31. They enjoyed a whopping 13-point gap over second-placed Barcelona.

AC Milan 

Milan have finally found their way back to the top of the Serie A table after a gap of 11 years. Defending champions Inter Milan were the favourites for the crown, but their local rivals edged them in the end by a mere two points to win the title. At the end of 38 games, Milan had 86 points, 26 wins, eight draws and four defeats. Milan’s goal difference was 38, having scored 69 goals and conceded only 31. Their brilliant run at the end of the season helped AC Milan finally win the league title.

Paris Saint-Germain

The French giants reclaimed the Ligue 1 title from Lille after losing the 2020-21 title by just a single point. In the recently concluded campaign, their path to the league glory was a straight forward affair. They won the league title with a massive 15-point gap over second-placed Marseille. In the end, PSG’s numbers were 38 played, 26 won, eight draws and four losses. Like the other two European giants, Mauricio Pochetinno’s side also managed 86 points, although their goal difference was an impressive 54. They scored 90 goals and conceded just 36 times in the league.
