Blackburn started this month with back-to-back defeats over Leicester City and Coventry City, but Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side managed to get back of track, winning each of their last three outings. Rovers went into the international break on the back of a dominant 4-0 win over Queens Park Rangers, and then resumed action with a narrow 1-0 victory over Cardiff on October 21, before defeating Millwall on Tuesday night. The Blue and Whites secured all three points at the Den last time out thanks to Joe Rankin-Castello’s 22nd-minute equaliser and Callum Britain’s winner six minutes into the second-half. It was their sixth second tier win of the campaign and three of those victories have come at Ewood Park.
Swansea, on the other hand, went into the international break on the back of four successive wins against the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Millwall, Norwich and Plymouth Argyle, scoring 11 goals and conceding just two in the process. But, on their return to action last week, Michael Duff’s side suffered a 3-1 defeat against league leaders Leicester despite taking the lead through Matt Grimes effort. On Tuesday, the Swans suffered their sixth second tier defeat of the season against Watford courtesy of Ken Sema’s lone goal eight minutes from time. Meanwhile, on a positive note, Swansea have won their last two league games on the road, scoring six goals and conceding only once in the process.
