The 2023/24 Premier League season is underway and we are sure to be in for an exciting campaign. Much of the attention will be on the title race, with Manchester City the defending champions.

However, there is a lot more on the line than the title, with teams competing to finish in the top four and the teams battling it out at the bottom of the league trying to avoid relegation. Individually, players will be aiming to finish top of the goal scoring chart. Continue below as we make our betting predictions for the Premier League in the 2023/24 season.

Title Winners

You will not find much value when backing Manchester City in the sports betting odds but they must be considered the overwhelming favorites to win the 2023/24 Premier League title. There has been a significant turnover of players at the Etihad Stadium this summer, with João Cancelo, Ilkay Gündogan, Aymeric Laporte, Riyad Mahrez, and Cole Palmer among the players leaving the club.

Josko Gvardiol, Matheus Nunes, Jérémy Doku, and Mateo Kovacic have joined Manchester City and they look more than capable of winning the league again under the guidance of Pep Guardiola. Chelsea and Manchester United have spent money but do not look like they are ready to challenge for the title, meaning it could be Liverpool who are once again the main rivals to Manchester City. Arsenal pushed Manchester City close last season but may have to settle for a top four place.

One team who could cause a surprise is Tottenham Hotspur and despite the loss of Harry Kane, Spurs could be in the mix as the season develops.

Top Four

Finishing in the top four of the Premier League means qualifying for the Champions League, the biggest club competition in Europe.

The race for the top four could be interesting this season, with Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle United all feeling they have a great chance of claiming a Champions League place for next season. Brighton and Hove Albion were excellent last season and look capable of pushing for a top four place in this campaign, meaning we could have one of the most exciting finishes to a season in terms of Champions League qualification.

Playing in the Europa League could hinder the chances of Brighton in the Premier League, with Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United considered the most likely to finish behind Manchester City.

Relegation

Last season, all three teams who won promotion to the Premier League from the Championship survived but that is unlikely to happen again in the 2023/24 campaign.

Luton Town are by far the smallest club in the Premier League this season having won promotion last season. They will have many memorable moments in the topflight this season but must be considered the favorites to drop back down to the Championship. Burnley are another promoted team who could struggle to survive and they are being tipped by many to be relegated this season. The final relegation position is where things could get interesting. Everton, Nottingham Forest, and Bournemouth all struggled last season and Everton could be an interesting bet for the drop.

The Toffees struggled to score goals last season and they could have the same problem in the 2023/24 Premier League campaign. Wolverhampton Wanderers will be an interesting team to follow in terms of relegation betting. They lost their manager at the beginning of the season and have also lost key central midfield players over the summer, with Matheus Nunes joining Manchester City and Rúben Neves moving to the Saudi Pro League. If Wolves fail to pick up many wins from their opening 10 games, they could be in big trouble this season.

Top Scorer

Much like the title race, there is one clear favorite to finish the 2023/24 Premier League season as top scorer and his name is Erling Haaland. The Norwegian striker finished with 36 goals in the league last season, which was his first in English football.

Harry Kane scored 30 goals for Tottenham Hotspur last season but he has moved to Bayern Munich, meaning Haaland’s main rival for the golden boot is no longer in the Premier League. Mohamed Salah has long been a reliable goal scorer in the Premier League but the feeling is that the Egyptian is coming towards the end of his career with Liverpool and is not the player he was a couple of seasons ago.

Perhaps Son Heung-min can fill the void left by Harry Kane at Spurs and become the main man in terms of scoring goals. The South Korean finished as the joint top goal scorer in the 2021/22 Premier League season and he knows what it takes to score over 20 goals in a single campaign. Haaland is the clear favorite but Son makes an interesting outside bet.
