According to The Athletic, Bayern Munich have reportedly reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur to sign Harry Kane. An offer reportedly exceeding €100 million from the Bundesliga team was accepted by their Premier League counterparts on Wednesday. The decision to move now rests with Kane, who must determine whether he will complete the transfer.

Kane, aged 30, wanted to resolve the situation before Tottenham’s season opener against Brentford on Sunday. He appears to be enjoying his time under the guidance of new Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou and has been leaning toward remaining with the team. However, the striker’s response to this turn of events remains uncertain.

Harry Kane is in last year of his contract, and Tottenham aims to extend his tenure with fresh terms. With no advancements in that area thus far, the club is now looking selling their star player during the current transfer window, rather than risking his departure as a free agent next summer. Bayern’s attempt to sign Kane was made difficult by Tottenham, as their initial three bids were reportedly turned down, with the first offer made in June. However, according to many reports, they have now reached an agreement by increasing their proposal.

During Tottenham’s summer tour of Australia and Singapore, Kane participated fully and even displayed his goal-scoring skills with a remarkable four-goal performance in a 5-1 victory against Shakhtar Donetsk at home. Postecoglou openly acknowledged after the match that ongoing discussions were taking place with both Kane and the club regarding a potential transfer. He emphasized on the urgency of reaching a decision soon to benefit all parties involved.

Harry Kane has been a subject of transfer speculation and news in recent times. Notably, in the summer of 2021, Kane was at the center of transfer discussions involving his desire to leave Tottenham Hotspur in search of trophies and silverware. During that transfer window, Manchester City emerged as one of the primary candidates for Kane. The club was reportedly interested in signing him but Tottenham stood firm and declined the offers, asserting that Kane was not for sale. But now it looks like he’s on his way out as Bayern and Tottenham have reached an agreement for the sale of the English striker.
