Belgium sealed their place in next summer’s Euro finals at Germany courtesy of collecting 17 points from seven Group F games. The Red Devils have recorded five wins and two draws so far and their last victory came against Austria (3-2) on October 14 thanks to Dodi Lukebakio’s brace and one goal from Romelu Lukaku. The result extended their unbeaten run to eight games across all competitions, and they welcomed Sweden three days later, high on confidence. However, the contest was brought down to an end at half-time following the tragic shooting of two civilians near the stadium. Domenico Tedesco’s side will host Azerbaijan for their final qualifying match on Sunday before turning their focus towards next years tournament.
Serbia, on the other hand, had mixed qualifiers across September and October, recording two wins and as many defeats. After losing 2-1 to Hungary midway through October, the Eagles secured all three points against Montenegro thanks to Aleksandar Mitrovic’s brace and Dusan Tadic’s trike. It was their fourth Group G victory of the campaign and now the hopes of qualification is in their own hands. Their final group fixture is against Bulgaria on Sunday. Dragan Stojkovic’s side will be hoping to go into Sunday’s fixture on a high.
