Barcelona didn’t make a great start to their 2022-23 La Liga campaign, as they were held to a goalless draw against Rayo Vallecano on August 14. However, a week later, Blaugrana got their acts together to put four goals past Real Sociedad. Robert Lewandoiwski opened the scoring inside the opening minute before Sociedad equalised through Alexander Isak, five minutes later. After the hour-mark, Ousmane Dembele restored Barca’s lead before Lewandowski completed his brace and Ansu Fati put the icing on the cake with their fourth of the night.
Real Valladolid, on the other hand, began their season with a 3-0 loss to Villarreal before sharing the spoils against Sevilla last weekend. The White and Violets broke the deadlock through Anuar Mohamed Tuhami, ten minutes from time, before Karim Rekik equalised for Sevilla, six minutes later. Pacheta’s side delivered a much improved performance against Sevilla to earn a point at Estadio Ramon.
