Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte feels it is  ‘impossible’ for his side to win all five of their remaining games. Spurs will host Leicester City on Sunday and a win will help them rise back into the top four for at least for a couple of hours before Arsenal take on West Ham United. Striker Harry Kane said last week that his side needs to have a 100% record between now and the end of the campaign to qualify for the  Champions League next season. Spurs would be guaranteed a top-four finish if they take 15 points from their remaining five games. That includes a trip to Anfield and a match against the Gunners at home. Conte knows how tough the task in hand is, especially to beat the mighty Liverpool, who are chasing a quadruple of titles this campaign.

We have to go game by game: Conte

“I think if you win five games, probably you get a place in Champions League,” he said, ahead of Sunday’s visit of Leicester. “But in England it’s impossible to think that in every game, you are going to win. You won’t. We have to go game by game. On Sunday we face Leicester and you know very well they have a really good squad. For sure it will be a difficult game. We have to go step by step and understand that this is a big opportunity for us and we have to face every game with great enthusiasm, great passion and with joy. Also to share this joy with our fans because we are fighting for something special. For this reason, this type of situation has to give us a lot of energy for the final games of the season.”

Spurs haven’t registered a shot on target in last 2 games

After an impressive run of form that saw Spurs winning four consecutive games between mid-march and second week of April, Conte’s side has collected just one point from their last two matches. Brighton managed to secure a 1-0 win on April 16 at Tottenham Hotspur stadium before being held to a goalless draw at Brentford. Meanwhile in both these games, Spurs registered zero shots on target. The teams sat behind the ball and didn’t give the front three too much space to attack. The Italian coach will definitely need to find a way to get his team back on track in order to finish the season on a high.

Conte is determined to stick to 3-4-3 formation

The former Chelsea boss is determined to stick with the 3-4-3 formation, despite injuries to Matt Doherty and Sergio Reguilon. He said: “Now we have Emerson (Royal) and (Ryan) Sessegnon available. I think that during the game (Dejan) Kulusevski can play in that position. I think the best solution is not to change what we know, what we are doing for seven months. With this formation, we know the way to play, this formation gives us great satisfaction. But if something else happens – I hope not – from now until the end, I for sure am forced to change something and find another solution.”
