Pornpawee Chochuwong is a Thai badminton player who specialises in the women’s singles. Born on 22 January 1998, Chochuwong has been hailed as a sensational talent when it comes to the international badminton circuit.
Chochuwong started her badminton career by winning the silver medal in the girls’ singles division at the World Junior Championships in both 2015 and 2016. Subsequently, she participated in the Thai winning squads in the SEA Games in 2017, 2019, and 2021. At the 2020 Spain Masters, Chochuwong defeated the defending Olympic champion Carolina Marín in the championship match to win her first World Tour title. However, she was unable to make it to the All-England Open finals. As a result, Chochuwong was defeated in straight games by Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara, who was ranked second. On March 23, 2021, she entered the BWF World Rankings’ Top 10 for the first time. Recently, she won the women’s singles in the French Open final.
