In a recent interview, WWE superstar Randy Orton praised fellow wrestler Cody Rhodes’s remarkable rise to professional wrestling’s peak. Once Legacy faction stablemates in the late 2000s, Orton and Rhodes watched each other’s careers evolve through the years with Rhodes potentially headlining WrestleMania 40 and capturing the WWE undisputed Universal Championship Orton applauded his former teammate’s industry growth and contributions.

Cody Rhodes, the son of the famed Dusty Rhodes started his wrestling path with a storied last name. Since age 12, Rhodes trained under his father’s guidance by honing his abilities in Ohio Valley Wrestling first. In 2007, he then entered the main WWE roster and formed The Legacy faction alongside Randy Orton and Ted DiBiase Jr.Orton led The Legacy which was a two-year run with a tag team championship alongside DiBiase. However, the group disbanded in 2010, a turning point for Rhodes. Reflecting, Orton saw potential but not the superstar Rhodes would become years later.

Rhodes’ Path Beyond WWE

After leaving WWE in 2016, Cody Rhodes entered the independent circuit. He made appearances with Ring of Honor, TNA Wrestling, and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Rhodes played a major role in forming All Elite Wrestling (AEW). His AEW contributions drew global attention and helped him establish his reputation as a top talent.

Rhodes astounded the WrestleMania 38 crowd when he challenged Seth Rollins and won because after this victory his performances he got his superstardom rocketed. Orton stressed Rhodes’ effect on wrestling especially uniting diverse AEW talents. The support and popularity among fans further highlighted his industry significance.
