In a groundbreaking episode of SmackDown, the women’s tag team division took center stage as two sets of titles were unified in a highly anticipated match. The team of Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler clashed with Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre in a headliner that carried significant stakes.

The excitement was palpable as fans eagerly awaited the history-making showdown. Rousey and Baszler, both accomplished athletes with backgrounds in mixed martial arts, brought their unique blend of athleticism and intensity to the ring. On the opposing side, Dawn and Fyre, determined to make a name for themselves, showcased their skills and tenacity.

The match was a thrilling back-and-forth battle, with each team demonstrating their chemistry and tag team prowess. Rousey and Baszler’s combination of power and technical ability was evident, as they unleashed a relentless assault on their opponents. Dawn and Fyre, however, refused to back down, countering with their own impressive maneuvers and resilience.

In the end, it was Rousey and Baszler who emerged victorious, securing a historic win and unifying the two sets of women’s tag team titles. Their triumph solidified their dominance in the division and elevated the prestige of the newly unified championship.

But the excitement didn’t end there. The episode of SmackDown promised more captivating storylines and intense matchups. The ongoing saga of The Bloodline, featuring Roman Reigns and his allies, continued to unfold, captivating audiences with its complex dynamics and captivating rivalries.

The Usos cuts a promo

Friday’s episode of SmackDown kicked off with an explosive start as The Usos took center stage, setting the stage for a highly anticipated showdown against their cousin and brother, Roman Reigns, and Solo Sikoa. The betrayal by The Usos, which had been brewing for three years, finally came to fruition, adding an intense layer of drama to the upcoming match at Money in the Bank on July 1.

The episode began with a recap of the events leading up to the shocking betrayal, reminding viewers of the emotional and tumultuous journey that unfolded in recent weeks. Jimmy and Jey Uso, unapologetic in their actions, made it clear that they believe they are the best tag team in wrestling. The brothers wasted no time in challenging Reigns and Sikoa to a match, setting the stage for The Bloodline Civil War.

In a welcome return to form, The Usos welcomed Reigns and Sikoa to The Uso Penitentiary, a familiar phrase that fans have come to associate with their dominant tag team reign. The intensity and passion with which The Usos delivered their message indicated that they were no longer content playing second fiddle to Reigns as The Head of the Table.

The events of the episode were a perfect follow-up to the electrifying angle that rocked social media the previous week.

Rey Mysterio vs LA Knight

Originally billed earlier Friday afternoon as LA Knight vs. Butch vs. Santos Escobar A week after losing to Escobar, Knight competed in singles against his coach, the renowned Rey Mysterio. This week, the loudmouthed villain fared considerably better, as he won a surprise clean victory against the Hall of Famer with his Blunt Force Trauma finisher.

The battle never really got going, with both seasoned combatants looking to be on different pages at points, particularly down the stretch and leading up to the end, which hurt the segment’s overall rating.

Still, Knight earned a quality victory over a fighter with a lot of reputation and respect, which bodes well for him as he prepares for Money in the Bank on July 1 from London’s O2 Arena.

Escobar defending Mysterio’s honor after the match keeps his developing rivalry with Knight alive, if only until the aforementioned premium live event.

Winner: LA Knight

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Unification Match

Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler defeated Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn to unify the WWE and NXT women’s tag titles on Friday, but they did so in a competitive match that highlighted the relatively new main roster call-ups while still ensuring the former MMA fighters etched their names in the history books.

As significant as the bout was, what followed was equally significant for the tag division’s future. Liv Morgan reappeared and declared her desire to contend for the titles she never truly lost, together with partner Raquel Rodriguez.

Winner: Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler

The Grayson Waller Effect with Pretty Deadly; Pretty Deadly vs Street Profits

A fairly superfluous Grayson Waller Effect involving Pretty Deadly led way to a tag team battle against The Street Profits, and it was clearly evident, both in the promo section and in the ring action, that Elton Prince and Kit Wilson were more than ready for the main roster. They have managed to hang with stars with significant main roster experience while having great personas and equally good in-ring rivals.

They’ll face their toughest test yet next week in London, as they take on Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship. The flashy villains have momentum on their side after defeating Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins on Friday night, and if it weren’t for the champions’ tremendous status in WWE, they would be a contender for the title.

Winner: Pretty Deadly

Charlotte Flair vs Lacey Evans

Charlotte will face Asuka for the WWE Women’s Championship next week from London, but she revived an old feud with Lacey Evans on Friday night. She effortlessly destroyed her opponent with the Figure Eight, but she was instantly met with The Empress of Tomorrow’s anger, which struck and left The Queen moaning in anguish to end the segment, blown away by her own acts.

Winner: Charlotte Flair

Sheamus vs Solo Sikoa

The main event of Friday’s program saw the indomitable Solo Sikoa confront Sheamus in a physical main event as a result of the heel’s unwarranted backstage attack on Ridge Holland. The game went on. The Celtic Warrior continued his hot streak of outstanding in-ring performances, while Sikoa continued his growth and progress as an in-ring fighter by working alongside one of WWE’s finest.

The ending was not the most inspired, and Sheamus definitely did not require that much protection, but it did build up The Usos returning to the ring and standing tall for the second week in a row. Hopefully, this isn’t just to build up the heels of winning in London, since if it is, the entire plot is ruined.

Winner: No Contest
