After a surprising title change last week, WWE NXT was in a bind just five days before the Great American Bash. Dominik Mysterio, the new champion, and Rhea Ripley would both appear on the June 25 edition of the gold brand. Due to The Judgement Day’s meddling, Wes Lee’s record-breaking NXT North American Championship reign came to an unceremonious end. With the intention of challenging the new champion for their rightful crack at the championship, he and Mustafa Ali felt certain to do so. This week, Ripley consented to a one-on-one match with Lyra Valkyria. The Valkyrie wanted to compete with the finest to prove her worth.

Joe Gacy persisted in his mental pursuit of the gold. He persuaded Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes to join Ilja Dragunov, the top contender, in the fight against Schism. Gable Steveson was anticipated to make a choice on his future with NXT and amateur wrestling, while Cora Jade and Dana Brooke attempted to resolve their differences in a Kendo Stick match. Tuesday night’s events would lay the groundwork for NXT’s summer’s biggest show, which was sure to be explosive.

Wes Lee and Mustafa Ali Confronting Dom Mysterio and Rhea Ripley

“Dirty” Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley were being interviewed when Wes Lee interrupted and challenged Dirty Dom to a fight on Tuesday. Mustafa Ali also showed up, enraged. Ali and Lee got into a fight, and Mysterio and Ripley left smiling. The main roster formula of starting with a promo has seldom been executed flawlessly by NXT, but this time it did. The evening got off to a heated start.

Ripley was forced to settle for simply speaking louder than the crowd since they would not give Dirty Dom any leeway. Ali and Lee made it clear how much the NXT North American championship meant to them both. Even if the main event from last week wasn’t the finest match, the reaction has been incredible. With Dom as champion, NXT is gaining more exposure, which might mean Lee and Ali will be eliminated sooner rather than later.

Schism vs Carmelo Hayes, Trick Williams and Ilja Dragunov

The Dyad were ambushed at ringside by two masked guys, but Ilja Dragunov and Carmelo Hayes were unable to agree on a strategy. This left Joe Gacy unattended. Melo hit Nothing But Net to win after receiving a blind tag. The Czar accidentally touched Trick Williams during the match, and Williams claimed that the challenger was trying to eliminate him on purpose. The multiple dramatics at ringside prevented this good tag team battle from really ramping up.

Schism couldn’t defeat Gacy and Melo, but the group also couldn’t win easily. Even if it diminished the contest’s quality, the outcome made sense. If The Creed Brothers were still involved with Gacy and The Dyad when they were wearing masks, then it appears that they still are. The majority of this feud has already concluded, but keeping Diamond Mine in NXT for a while longer is a good thing.

Javier Bernal vs Von Wagner

Javier Bernal was quickly dispatched by Von Wagner, who first took him to the ground before winning with a rotating side slam. The NXT Universe then ordered Wagner to send Big Body Javy through the announce table. However, the large man was unable to rejoice as Bron Breakker struck him with a steel chair and speared him into the ground. It was encouraging to see Wagner finally pick up his game with a victory. Through squash, he played this match with confidence and attention, with the support of the fans.

This was a tricky situation because it wasn’t just a squash match. Breakker has selected Wagner as his next victim. Although they had fought before, both of them are in more cozy positions now. Wagner will gain from practicing with Breakker even if he does not succeed in defeating the former world champion. The heel should only serve to strengthen the large man’s babyface image.

Gable Steveson NXT Debut

Gable Steveson considered pursuing a second Olympic gold medal or another national title in college when Baron Corbin interrupted. At the Great American Bash, the 23-year-old suplexed The Lone Wolf and declared a match against him. Steveson is still a bad promo even though he may be improving as an in-ring performer. Reading his lines to a man who was talking circles around him, he appeared dead. WWE obviously has faith in him to launch his WWE career in style by facing Corbin right away. The Olympian will benefit from this, but his rival’s chances of quickly returning to form in NXT are dim.

Cora Jade vs Dana Brooke

Dana Brooke used a variety of kendo sticks to defeat Cora Jade and make her pay. She used kendo sticks, a steel chair underneath her, and some assistance from Kelani Jordan to hit a senton bomb onto Jade in order to win. This wasn’t all that great. The two appeared to be positioning themselves for opportunities, but they were unable to establish a speed that worked for them.

Even with assistance, Brooke’s victory over Jade accomplishes little to help either woman. Although Brooke appeared more like the heel throughout, the audience was still more in favor of the NXT regular. It might be to bring someone in to help Jade even against the odds, but it would be best to end this rivalry once and for all. Jade and Brooke don’t get along at all.

Bronco Nima and Lucien Price vs Tony D’Angelo and Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo

Early on, Bronco Nima and Lucien Price controlled the action, even resorting to cheap shots on Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo to maintain their advantage. But as soon as Tony D’Angelo received the hot tag, he was unstoppable. The Bada Boom was the winning manoeuvre. After the Great American Bash, Gallus admonished them on the titantron that they were still in charge.

Even though Nima and Price showed more in their second NXT match, they have already diminished in stature. To create excitement for their tag team title battle, The Family ran them over. It appears like Scrypts will be collaborating with these two for a while. That might be of use to them, but only after he has left his losing battle with Axiom. The Don looked good in this scene, and the NXT Tag Team Championships bout is getting plenty of attention. The time is right to give D’Angelo his due.

Meta-Four presents Heritage Cup

The Scottish Supernova was catatonic until Meta-Four gave him a new Heritage Cup at the most recent Supernova Sessions, which caused him to become conscious. As they questioned the authenticity of the Cup, Nathan Frazer and Dragon Lee started a fight with Meta-Four that also involved Yulisa Leon and Valentina Feroz. This reintroduction of Meta-Four has been highly successful. The ensemble has excellent comic timing, and Dar has been particularly funny. Now that Frazer has rediscovered his groove, Dar vs. Frazer is a far more thrilling contest.

Lyra Valkyria vs Rhea Ripley

Even with Dominik Mysterio’s assistance, Rhea Ripley struggled to defeat Lyra Valkyria. After a kick-out, The Eradicator got serious and won with a Riptide after The Valkyrie came close to winning with a frog splash. Following the victory, Ripley refocused Valkyria on making Jacy Jayne pay, soundly defeating her in their subsequent battle. Although Ripley no longer frequently competes in WWE television matches, she still gives her all. This was an outstanding demonstration of her abilities and improved The Valkyrie.

Even though she was never going to win, she appeared to be The Eradicator’s real threat in the closing stages. Valkyria also required this chance as she advanced steadily towards the top of the NXT card. At this moment, Valkyria must triumph against Jayne in their rematch as rivals. The Valkyrie might then return to the NXT Women’s Championship action right away.

Complete Show

Carmelo Hayes developed the hottest feud of his NXT career on Tuesday night. He and Ilja Dragunov have created the conditions for a potential candidate for match of the year, a rare honour for an NXT match in the contemporary WWE. The rest of the card’s hype for Tiffany Stratton vs. Thea Hail and Roxanne Perez vs. Blair Davenport was driven by taped vignettes. A couple awkward segments in the middle of the night were made up for by this. WWE holds authentic go-home events. The business frequently fails to generate excitement in the final week before a PPV. The business might take inspiration from this highly effective go-home show moving forward.
