People in AEW think Bret Hart has surreptitiously inked a lucrative agreement with WWE that precludes him from performing for AEW but enables him to take numerous independent bookings, according to The Wrestling Observer. Hart is scheduled to be on the corner of FTR against Brock Anderson and Brian Pillman Jr. for Big Time Wrestling.

FTR has teased cooperation with Hart on AEW television, however, due to the deal Hart signed, this appearance will take place on the independent circuit rather than Dynamite. Hart is also barred from competing in the AEW Owen Hart Foundation tournament, which is now underway in AEW and will conclude at the Double or Nothing PPV event at the end of May.

In 2019, Hart made an appearance in the inaugural AEW event, Double or Nothing. Hart debuted the AEW World Championship belt for the first time on the night. Hart’s history with WWE is well-documented and tumultuous at best. Hart quit WWE after the Montreal Screwjob in 1997 and didn’t appear on WWE television again until 2010. Hart battled Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 26 and has been involved with the company in various capacities throughout the years.

Bret Hart in WWE

Hart has won the WWE Championship, the Intercontinental Championship, and the Tag Team Championship on several occasions. He’s also a WCW World Champion twice, a WCW United States Champion multiple times, and a WCW Tag Team Champion.

In 2006, Bret Hart got inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, and in 2019, he was inducted into The Hart Foundation. As being one of the foundational members of WWE it would be very interesting to see whether Bret Hart will be joining WWE or not. But if AEW sources think he signed a deal then there is a huge possibility that we may watch Bret Hart again on television and enjoy the good old days.
