Roman Reigns has been issued a challenge by Jey Uso. Uso challenged Reigns to a match in the last segment of Friday’s WWE SmackDown as he stood in the ring wearing the Undisputed WWE Universal title belt. The match is scheduled for the SummerSlam pay-per-view on August 5 but has not yet been officially confirmed.

A show-long storyline involving Reigns, Uso, and the rest of the Bloodline played out on Friday’s SmackDown in response to the events of last week’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view, where Uso pinned Reigns in a tag match to become the first person to pin Reigns since 2019.

The Video

WWE SmackDown at Madison Square Garden began tonight’s broadcast with The Trial of the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. Reigns asserted that because The Usos are not the Tribal Chief, they lack the right to prosecute him. Jimmy and Jey played a video package that demonstrated Roman’s attempts to control his cousins throughout time. Roman claimed that the character in the video is not actually him; rather, he was made to play that part. He didn’t want to act that way, but he did it for Jimmy, Jey, and Solo.

The Low Blow

Roman declared that he was finished and that he no longer required the power or the wealth in his life. Reigns knelt down in front of Jey, but it was a mistake since Jey was struck low by Roman. Roman was attacked by Jimmy, but Solo intervened and counterattacked. In the end, Solo and Roman collaborated to eliminate Jimmy and Jey outside the ring. Solo mocked Roman about putting on the lei that he wears around his neck.

Roman rammed Jimmy into the steel steps after hitting him numerous times with the title belt in the 30-plus minute segment’s conclusion, as Jey watched helplessly as Solo restrained him. Jey managed to release himself from the ring ropes, but Solo caught him with the Samoan Spike, and Jey was hit by Solo across the announcer’s table.
