In a thrilling turn of events, Raquel Rodriguez is gearing up for a highly anticipated showdown against the formidable Nia Jax on the upcoming episode of “WWE Raw.” This battle comes four weeks after Nia Jax’s disruptive intervention during Rodriguez’s WWE Women’s World Championship match, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the chance for Rodriguez to exact some well-deserved revenge.
This upcoming clash is not the first encounter between these two powerhouse wrestlers. Excluding their participation in the 2023 Royal Rumble, Jax and Rodriguez have met previously on the March 3, 2021, episode of “WWE NXT.” In that memorable showdown, Nia Jax and her partner Shayna Baszler successfully defended their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships against the fierce duo of Rodriguez and Dakota Kai.
While Jax and Baszler emerged victorious in their previous encounter, Rodriguez has made significant strides in her wrestling journey since then. The two-year gap between their matches has seen Rodriguez face off against a roster of seasoned opponents including legends like Trish Stratus and MMA sensation Ronda Rousey. Currently embroiled in a heated feud with Rhea Ripley, Rodriguez has continuously honed her in-ring skills and accumulated invaluable experience which she believes will give her an advantage in her upcoming bout against Nia Jax.
“Two years is a long time, and I feel like since then I’ve had some crazy battles,” Rodriguez candidly expressed during an interview on WWE’s “The Bump.” “I’ve wrestled people with crazy experience, from Trish Stratus to Ronda Rousey to now being in a feud with Rhea Ripley. So knowing that I’ve been continuing to grow and continuing to harness my skill and my in-ring ability, I think that’s where I have the leg up on Nia. She had two years off and I only took two weeks, so I think it’s going to be fair game Monday.”
With a newfound confidence and a determination to prove her mettle, Rodriguez is embracing a strategic approach to her impending clash with the imposing Nia Jax. She recognizes Jax’s relentless mission to dominate her opponents and is prepared to utilize cunning taunting tactics to throw her adversary off balance.
“I feel like when you have a bull that’s just seeing red, you got to just keep waving that flag in front of them until they hit something hard and then they’re out. So that’s my strategy going in,” Rodriguez remarked outlining her game plan for the bout.
