Trinity Fatu has disclosed Naomi’s former plans as well as the famous connections of her WWE persona. In Florida Championship Wrestling before it changed its name to NXT, Fatu made an appearance after signing a contract with WWE in August 2009. In January 2012, she would join Cameron (Ariane Andrew) on the main roster as The Funkadactyls with Brodus Clay.
“I couldn’t use my real name in the WWE, so Naomi was the name I selected because of the iconic supermodel. I had this character idea at the time of being this knockoff Naomi Campbell wanna-be which never happened. I now wrestle as Trinity which is my real name and I’m loving that.” Exclaimed Fatu during an interview with Schön! Magazine about the origins of Naomi.

She would also discuss how her wrestling career began and developed, noting. “I started out as an Orlando Magic Dancer, then I went to a try out for wrestling, got signed, and married a wrestler. Now, a decade later, I’m still here happy and doing what I love with my husband, although we wrestle in 2 different companies now.”
In January 2014, Jimmy Uso and Trinity Fatu got married. The tenures of Fatu and the former Sasha Banks in WWE came to an end in May 2022 when they left the company on a Raw broadcast. Banks later changed her name to Mercedes Mone in NJPW, and in April 2023 Fatu made her IMPACT Wrestling debut.
