As the first transgender wrestler in the history of the company, former WWE star Gabbi Tuft said that she was denied admission to the backstage area at Smackdown, which was hosted at Madison Square Garden. After a successful career as Tyler Reks, Tuft transitioned two years ago. She expressed her regret at losing the chance to get up with her old coworkers and friends. In an interview with Dailymail.co.uk, Gabbi Tuft admitted that she had been “blocked” from entering the Smackdown backstage area.

Ticket Shortage

She was refused backstage passes to the match on July 7 despite having a stellar professional wrestling career. Tuft, who retired ten years ago, went to his first wrestling competition after coming out. She acknowledged that prior to this encounter, she had no idea how much she loved the WWE. Just before she left for New York City, Tuft, who was living in Austin, Texas, learned that she wouldn’t be allowed to go backstage and wish her former coworkers well. The problem, according to a WWE spokesman, was brought on by a “shortage of tickets,” but Tuft was not given a break. She reflected on the issue and said, “One never knows with Vince,” referring to Vince McMahon, the current executive chairman and former CEO of WWE.

Fans barely recognized her

Tuft saw that people hardly recognised her as she arrived at the gathering, indicating that she was “old news.” She did come across some admirers, though, who spoke highly of her TikToks. She highlighted the fact that it had been 11 years since her previous arena event when she spoke about her experience on social media. The crowd’s enthusiasm and the chance to get up with old pals were both appreciated by the trans former fighter.

With 124,000 Instagram followers as of right now, Tuft shares health and lifestyle advice with her followers in addition to chronicling her journey. She said that during the epidemic, she had time to consider her identity and started cross-dressing, which allowed Gabbi, her actual personality, to come into view. The fitness expert, who is most known for her time in professional wrestling as Tyler Reks, made her gender change public in 2021, calling it a “thrilling story of gender transitioning.”
