Y2J Chris Jericho is the gift that keeps on giving. He has been in the wrestling business since 1990 and is still going strong. His ability to keep reinventing himself and keeping himself relevant in the process is second to none. He is rated by many as the greatest wrestler ever and those claims are not far fetched.

He is the first wrestler to hold both the WWE Championship and the World Championship at the same time and be Undisputed Champion. Since he has been so good, it’s natural that he has had some amazing rivalries over the years. He has gone to war with the likes of The Rock, Triple H, Shaw Michaels, The Undertaker, John Cena and has had blockbuster main event matches. In this article, we take a look at some of them.

Shawn Michaels

Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels went up against each other numerous times and each time, there was an interesting twist. Michaels was the cocky and outspoken personality who was the king of WWE and Jericho was the self-proclaimed saviour of the WWE.

In 2003, Y2J took on Michaels at WrestleMania 19. They had an epic match. Shawn won but Jericho turned on his idol and became heel. They rekindled their rivalry in 2008 at Judgment Day and went all the way through to No Mercy when Jericho was World Champion and he defeated Michaels in a classic Ladder Match.

The Rock

When Y2J first debuted in the WWF, the first person he went after was The Rock in a now famous promo. Jericho said that he had come to the WWF to save it and laid claim to RAW saying “RAW is Jericho.”

After that, the Brahma Bull and Y2J fought each other on numerous occasions. They had their most famous match at No Mercy 2001 where Jericho won the World Championship. They fought again at Vengeance where Y2J made history by becoming the first Undisputed Champion.

John Cena

John Cena took on Chris Jericho in his very first pay-per-view appearance at Vengeance in 2002. A young Cena shocked the world by pinning the veteran Y2J. Jericho attempted to apply the Walls of Jericho on Cena, but Cena countered with a roll-up to win the match.

Their paths would cross again when Cena was drafted to Raw and Jericho turned heel, leading to a WWE Title Match at SummerSlam 2005 which Cena won and a World Title Match at Survivor Series 2008 which Cena won again.
