After rebranding himself as “The Tribal Chief,” Roman Reigns has been on an incredible run over the past several years. He has held the WWE Title for more than a year as well as the Universal Championship for almost two years. At WWE Payback 2020, Reigns defeated Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt in a Triple Threat Match to take home the WWE Universal Championship. He has since defended the championship against competitors such as Daniel Bryan, Edge, Kevin Owens, Jey Uso, Rey Mysterio, Cesaro, Finn Balor, John Cena, Goldberg, Sami Zayn, Matt Riddle, and others.

WWE Undisputed Universal Champion

At WrestleMania 38 last year, Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar in order to combine the WWE Universal Championship with the WWE Championship and become the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion. At the Money in the Bank PLE next Saturday, Reigns and Solo Sikoa will face off against The Usos in a tag team match dubbed the Bloodline Civil War.

The Milestone

Reigns has achieved a new milestone by outlasting Pedro Morales’ 1027-day reign of the world title. Reigns has now held the title for 1,029 days. He still trails Hogan’s 1,474-day reign from 1984 to 1988, Bob Backlund’s initial reign, and Bruno Sammartino’s two championship reigns, the longest of which lasted 2,803 days.

Why is Roman Reigns still carrying three WWE Championships?

We saw on WWE SmackDown last to last week that even though Roman Reigns has a new WWE Undisputed Universal Championship, he’s still got the two belts The WWE Universal Championship and The WWE Championship. But, the big question is why is that? It is still not clear why Reigns has been carrying two titles even though he got a new one. But, to make things crystal clear, it makes sense if we look at “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns’ character. He carried all three belts to complement his gimmick. He’s so narcissistic and egotistic that adding one more belt to his 3 belts would make it better.
