After Turkey won their first-ever title win at the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League 2023, the quest for the men’s gold medal is set to kick-off in Gdansk, Poland, from the 19th to the 23rd of July, 2023. The first two of quarterfinal matches of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League 2023 are scheduled for July 19, 2023. The United States, France, Italy, and Argentina will be the first to compete on the Ergo Arena, with the United States tackling the reigning champions, France, in the first quarterfinal. The next match will see the global champions, Italy, going head-to-head with Argentina.
The United States, which emerged as the standout team from the preliminary phase with an impressive ten wins from 12 matches, is poised to claim their fourth VNL medal. However, the team is yet to win their first gold, having settled for silver in 2019 and 2022, and bronze in 2018. While the current champions, France, secured their spot in Gdansk at the end of the preliminary phase, finishing in eighth place with a tally of six victories. They are also vying for their fourth medal at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League 2023 but unlike the Americans, they have a title win from last year’s competition. In addition, they have previously won a silver in 2018 and a bronze in 2021.
