Currently, in its third week, the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League 2023, which began on June 6, is holding the Pool 5 and Pool contests in Anaheim, United States, and Pasay City, Philippines. Among the participating teams, Japan, the United States, and Poland have already secured their spots for the final round. Both Japan and the USA have had impressive performances so far, with nine and eight victories out of nine matches respectively, and have made their way into the quarterfinals. As the host nation for the knockout stage, Poland has secured their participation in the finals regardless of their placement in the preliminary rounds. However, Poland’s performance has been commendable too, currently sitting fifth in the team rankings with three more matches to play.
On July 7, 2023, Serbia will lock horns with Cuba at the Anaheim Convention Center (ACC) in Anaheim, United States at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League 2023. At present, both teams stand outside the top eight with the world no.11 Serbia and world ranked 12th Cuba, being 10th and 15th respectively on the team rankings. However, depending on their current form, it looks unlikely for both teams at this stage to qualify for the knockout phase. But, it will be interesting the approach of Serbia and Cuba as they meet each other on Friday at the men’s VNL 2023.
