The Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship 2023, taking place in Bengaluru, India, began on December 6 and will conclude on December 10, 2023. The international volleyball event has brought together six of the world’s leading club teams – Italy’s Sir Safety Perugia, Brazil’s Itambe Minas, and Sada Cruzeiro Volei, Turkey’s Halkbank Spor Kulubu, Japan’s Suntory Sunbirds, and India’s Ahmedabad Defenders. The 18th edition of this tournament is gearing up for its finale and the match for third place, both scheduled on the final day, December 10.
On December 10, Sir Safety Perugia will play Itambe Minas in the much-anticipated grand final happening at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium. The reigning champions Perugia have been extraordinary throughout the tournament, having not conceded a single set, and will look to continue their fine form. Meanwhile, Itambe Minas won a closely-contested semi-final against Suntory Sunbirds by 3-2 to make a place for themselves in the finals of the prestigious volleyball event. The previous time the two teams encountered Perugia were the better team as they put up a dominant show against Minas by 3-0.
