Manika Batra and Diya Parag Chitale will take on the team of Rheann Chung and Catherine Spicer in the round of 32 of the women's doubles event.
After a fairly successful outing in the team events, the Indian paddlers will begin their singles and doubles campaign at the 2022 Commonwealth Games from August 5. The first match of the day will see 2018 singles gold medalist Manika Batra team up with Diya Parag Chitale to take on the Trinidad and Tobago duo of Rheann Chung and Catherine Spicer. The Indian women’s table tennis team had a decent performance earlier in the competition but could not qualify for the medal matches. Now, the paddlers will be hoping to go the distance in the singles and doubles categories as the Commonwealth Games enter its conclusive stages.
