The Lucknow-based franchise will be making their maiden appearance at the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Lucknow Super Giants will add to the flavour of the cricketing festival of India — Indian Premier League (IPL) — with its inception in the new season. Owned by the RPSG Group, who previously was at the helm of the Rising Pune Supergiant franchise between 2016 and 2017, the Lucknow-franchise have named BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium as their home ground and have been placed alongside Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, and Mumbai Indians in Group A for IPL 2022.

Prolific India opener KL Rahul, who earlier led Punjab Kings in the IPL, has been tasked to lead the Lucknow franchise in the upcoming season. He will, however, have the support of former KKR captain and title winner Gautam Gambhir, serving as the team mentor, and Andy Fowler to produce the best result for the side.
The Lucknow franchise went for a multi-utility squad in the IPL mega auction. They have some star players like Marcus Stoinis, Quinton de Kock, Manish Pandey, Jason Holder, Krunal Pandya, and Mark Wood in their ranks.
All the matches of the IPL 2022 will be telecast on the Star Sports Network. Star Sports 1 will be the English Telecast while Star Sports 3 will have the Hindi Telecast. In addition, it can be viewed even on Star Sports HD networks. For Mobile Subscribers, they can watch IPL 2022 games on Hotstar.
