MS Dhoni is a gift to the Indian cricket fans that keeps on giving. The former India captain who led the national team to three major titles — 2007 ICC World Twenty20, 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup and 2013 ICC Champions Trophy and established Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as one of the most consistent franchise in the Indian Premier League — has now opened the doors of his farmhouse in Sembo for the fans on Holi eve.

According to a report in India Today, the farmhouse will remain open to the fans for three days from March 17 to 19, with the localities being allowed to buy the organic vegetables and fruits cultivated in the farm. His Sembo-farmhouse is approximately 29 minutes drive from Ranchi and 14.3 kms away from the Jharkhand capital where Dhoni hails from.

After having announced his international retirement on India’s 74th Independence Day, the former India captain remains heavily invested in the Eeja Farms, which is built in a 43-acre area and houses dairy cattle and poultry.

MS Dhoni: What does the former India captain cultivates?

It has been reported that 250 grams of strawberry packets will be available for Rs 50 during these three days. The CSK captain, meanwhile, also cultivates papaya and guava, watermelon, peas, capsicum, fish and wheat on a large scale in this farmhouse.

His farming business is largely handled by Agriculture Consultant Roshan Kumar. Dhoni, meanwhile, keeps visiting the farmhouse in his time away from the field and family.

Dhoni retired from international cricket, after having called time on his Test career in 2014, with 4876 runs in the longest format, 10773 in One-Day International (ODI) and 1617 in the shortest format of the game. He will be next in action leading CSK in their title defense in their opening IPL 2022 contest against KKR at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 2016.

The CSK captain will also be eager to groom a young bunch of youngsters under his belt in the upcoming season. “We all commit mistakes. It’s a learning phase for all of us. The only difference is the junior may not get time to address it on a field. In a limited time, you have to bowl those 20 overs,” Dhoni said at ‘Witness the #PowerOf7’, an event hosted by the India Cements, ahead of IPL 2022.
