Emerging fast bowlers Umran Malik of the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kuldeep Sen from the Rajasthan Royals (RR) have raised a few eyebrows with their bowling prowess in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Malik was back to his wicket-taking ways after going wicketless in his last three matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Malik picked up the important wickets of Ajinkya Rahane, Nitish Rana and captain Shreyas Iyer in his first three overs of the match against KKR in the IPL 2022 contest on Saturday at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune.

After an impressive performance in the IPL 2022, where Malik clocked 157 kmph with the ball, to record the fastest delivery of the season, the fast bowler has set his sights on Team India call up. He said that he is well prepared to don the Indian jersey in the limited-overs format and if given a chance then he will deliver to the best of his capabilities.

IPL 2022: Kuldeep Sen impressed in death overs for Rajasthan Royals

Madhya Pradesh medium-pacer Kuldeep Sen has found his footing in the Indian Premier League 2022, courtesy of his calm and composed approach in death overs for Rajasthan Royals. With only a handful of first-class cricket experience, Sen knows how to maintain his line and length under pressure and put the opposition batter under pressure. His temperament has made him the heart of Rajasthan Royals’ death bowling and someone who Sanju Samson relies on.

Sen, 25, first broke into the light for defending 15 runs in the final over against Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2022. He was up against the in-form Australian hard-hitter Marcus Stoinis and conceded only 11 runs to salvage a close win for his franchise. His stakes continued to grow as he picked up a four-wicket haul against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2022 clash on Tuesday. It is also notable that Sen hardly leaks runs while being amongst wickets.

IPL 2022: Umran Malik, Kuldeep Sen earmarked for Team India

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly is one of the many who is impressed with the brilliance of Malik and Sen. Ganguly, the former Team India captain, went down his memory lane and said that there are not many fast bowlers who can hit the 150kmph regularly, referring to the consistency shown by Malik. He also highlighted that Kuldeep Sen has been special in the ongoing edition of the lucrative tournament. “How many can bowl at 150 km? Not many. I won’t be surprised if he gets picked for the national team. We have to be careful in using him, though. Umran is the fastest. I also like Kuldeep Sen. Also, T Natarajan has made comeback. We will have Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. Finally, it is up to the selectors,” said Ganguly.
