Zambia will be looking to bounce back from its defeat to Ivory Coast in their last match when they host Comoros on Tuesday. In the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture at the National Heroes Stadium, both teams will have their own issues to overcome. Zambia were well beaten by Ivory Coast 3-1 in the opener away from home, while Comoros won 2-0 against Lesotho. For Zambia, it is about getting back to winning ways on Tuesday, while Comoros will be keen to make it two wins in a row.

In the recent past, Zambia have been enduring a poor run of form. In the last five matches, they won only once and lost the remaining four games. Their only victory came against Congo during a friendly in March. In the match on Saturday, Serge Aurier, Christian Kouame and Ibrahim Sangare put Ivory Coast 3-0 up before Patson Daka scored one for the visitors to make it 3-1. They will be keen to put an end to these poor results on Tuesday. In terms of rankings, Zambia outshine their opponents, as they are placed 87th compared to Comoros, who has a ranking of 128.

Comoros’ form has neither been impressive. They have done well in patches but have struggled to maintain their consistency. They might have won their last two games, but in the six games they played this year, Comoros won three and lost the rest. In their opening match of the qualifiers, they scored two second half goals to win the game against Lesotho on Friday. It will be difficult for them to maintain the winning streak on Tuesday but they will be going into the clash with a positive mindset following their previous result.

Possible Line-ups

There are hardly any injury and suspension concerns for both sides, meaning each of them can name a strong first team for the Tuesday night clash. In the last match for Zambia, Prince Mumba was taken off at half time, hence it will be interesting to see if he can retain his place in the Starting XI on Tuesday. On the other hand, Comoros player Youssouf M’Changama is in a great goalscoring form which he would hope to continue against Zambia. Benajaloud Youssouf also scored for them in the last game after coming from the bench, hence it will be interesting to see if he can start the game this time.

Zambia possible line-up: Nsabata, Kabwe, Mwape, Musonda, Musonda, Kangwa, Mwepu, Banda, Sakala, Mumba, Daka

Comoros possible line-up: Ahamada, Abdallah, Zahary, M’Dahoma, M’Changama, Bakari, Bachirou, Abdullah, Selemani, El Fardou, Youssouf
