West Brom are going through bit of a rough patch, having recorded just one win from their last five outings, while losing three games in the process. Their last success came away to Rotherham United on December 12 thanks to two unanswered goals through Grady Diangana and Jed Wallace. Five days later, the Albion were held to a 1-1 draw by Stoke City, before suffering their seventh second tier defeat away to Middlesbrough on Saturday. A former West Brom youngster came back to haunt Carlos Corberan’s side at the Riverside Stadium, with winger Morgan Rogers scoring the lone goal of the match five minutes from the break. Meanwhile, on a positive note, Corberan’s side have done well in front of their own supporters, taking 20 points from a possible 33 at the Hawthorns.
Norwich, on the other hand, are undefeated this month, having recorded three wins and two draws from their last five outings. After playing out a pulsating 2-2 draw away to second-placed Ipswich Town on December 16, the Canaries welcomed Huddersfield on Saturday and secured their tenth league-win of the campaign thanks to Sam McCallum’s opener two minutes into the second-half and Borja Sainz’s effort 17 minutes from time. Norwich are now within striking distance of West Brom and sixth-placed Hull ahead of their boxing day encounter, sitting two points behind the Tigers, who lost out to Bristol City on Friday night at Ashton Gate .
