Watford will host Blackburn Rovers in an EFL championship fixture at Vicarage Road on Saturday. Both sides have not tasted victory in their last three second tier games. The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a 2-2 draw away to Reading, last Saturday, while Blackburn shared the spoils against Wigan Athletic (0-0), two days later. Meanwhile, the previous meeting between these two sides was less than five months ago and it ended 2-0 in favour of Blackburn, courtesy of goals from Ryan Hedges and Dominic Hyam.

Watford have pocketed just two points from their last three outings. Their last win came against Blackpool on January 14, thanks to second half efforts from Tobi Ademeyo and Ismaila Sarr. It was Watford’s 12th second tier victory of the campaign. Meanwhile, last time out, the Golden Boys took a 2-0 lead through Sarr and Ryan Porteous, but Reading fought back to level the score at 2-2, courtesy of efforts from Tom Ince and Jeff Hendrick in the final 30 minutes. The result helped Watford to move to 45 points from 30 games, sitting at the fifth spot in the English second tier standings. Bilic’s side are 13 points adrift of the automatic qualification spot, and therefore will be hoping to get back to winning ways as soon as possible and solidify their playoff spot.

Blackburn, on the other hand, are sitting two places behind the Hornets, separated by just a solitary point but have a game in hand. The Riversiders are undefeated in their last four outings across all competition, and that includes a FA Cup fourth round win over Birmingham City (1-0). Meanwhile, their last Championship-win came against Cardiff City on January 1, courtesy Bradley Dack’s lone goal three minutes into the second half. Since then, the Rovers have collected just two points from three second tier matches. Meanwhile Jon Dahl’s side have not conceded a goal in their last two outings across all competitions.
