During the 2023 summer transfer window, football fans worldwide are experiencing a whirlwind of emotions due to surprising changes in team rosters. Players are leaving and joining new clubs, making it an intense time for supporters. Amidst these ongoing updates, a major and captivating incident has taken center stage in the football world. England’s Harry Maguire is reportedly open to moving to West Ham if Manchester United agrees to a transfer fee. West Ham, led by David Moyes, seeks to strengthen their squad after Declan Rice’s departure. Bids for Maguire and McTominay from West Ham were rejected by Manchester United. Negotiations continue, with Maguire’s fee closer to compromise. Maguire sees a West Ham move as a chance to revive his career and secure a spot in England’s 2024 European Championships squad.

Bayern Munich is contemplating a fourth bid for Tottenham’s Harry Kane, who has set a deadline for a deal. Despite three failed attempts, Bayern remains eager for the striker. Their latest £87m offer with add-ons was rejected as Tottenham’s Daniel Levy seeks £100m upfront, as per reports. Bayern is considering a new bid, considering the need for replacement time. Kane’s potential move comes with an alleged salary increase to £400,000 weekly. He aims for a resolution before Tottenham’s Premier League opener against Brentford, but won’t leave after the league starts. If the deal falls through, Bayern might face competition for Kane’s 2024 free agency.

Arsenal reject Monaco’s Folarin Balogun bid

According to reports, Arsenal have turned down a £30m offer from Monaco for Folarin Balogun. Balogun returned from a successful loan stint at Reims with 21 goals in Ligue 1, but had limited pre-season action due to injuries. He’s expected to leave Arsenal permanently, having rejected a new contract due to uncertainty about playing time. Arsenal set a reported £50m price, with Crystal Palace, West Ham, Brentford, Fulham, and Inter expressing interest. Monaco, needing a new striker after Breel Embolo’s injury, submitted the bid. Gift Orban and Elye Wahi are also considered by Monaco, having spoken with Tottenham representatives.

West Ham closing in on Harry Maguire and James Ward-Prowse

West Ham has secured deals for Manchester United’s Harry Maguire and Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse, fulfilling David Moyes’ efforts to reinforce the squad post-Declan Rice’s alleged £105m transfer to Arsenal. According to reports, the club is also close to signing Ajax’s Edson Álvarez for £32m and intends to add James Ward-Prowse for £30m. Moyes seeks a center-back and has convinced the board to pursue Maguire with an alleged £30m fee agreement. Concerns arise from Maguire’s increased salary due to United’s Champions League qualification. The moves highlight the club’s support for Moyes, despite tensions with technical director Tim Steidten over transfer targets. Ward-Prowse’s deal revived after a reported £30m McTominay bid was rejected, and West Ham continues negotiations for other players.

West Ham reject Manchester City’s Lucas Paqueta bid

Lucas Paquetá is reportedly keen on a move from West Ham to Manchester City, as Guardiola aims to enhance his midfield options. West Ham, having secured agreements for Maguire and Ward-Prowse, hesitate to lose more key players after Declan Rice’s departure. City’s initial bid for Paquetá was rejected, but they are allegedly anticipated to return with a £70m offer. While Paquetá’s contract features a reported £85m release clause next summer, the unsettled Brazilian is concerned about West Ham’s ambitions and wants to avoid another relegation battle. City’s possession-based play could suit him better. West Ham also pursued Edson Álvarez and anticipate announcing him as their first summer signing.
