During this summer’s football transfer window, there’s an extraordinary level of anticipation as players make shifts to different teams. Enthusiastic fans are overjoyed about the prospect of their beloved teams acquiring fresh talents. Amidst all this fervor, there’s a particular update that stands out, creating an immense wave of excitement and delight. Al Hilal announced the signing of Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, following their Neymar acquisition. The Saudi Pro League team shared Mitrovic receiving his jersey captioned “Mitrovic is Hilali until 2026” on platform X. Mitrovic, Fulham’s top scorer in four of five seasons, missed a match due to injury in Fulham’s Premier League opener. Despite having a Fulham contract until 2026, Al Hilal faced multiple rejections for their offers.

Hakim Ziyech joined Galatasaray on loan, debuting in their 2-0 victory over Trabzonspor. Chelsea will reportedly receive £3 million for the temporary move, with an option for Galatasaray to make the transfer permanent next summer for €2.85 million. Ziyech’s time at Stamford Bridge since his 2020 Ajax transfer has seen reduced playtime. Chelsea aimed to offload him in the summer, leading to Galatasaray taking on the 30-year-old Moroccan player. Man City’s Aymeric Laporte is reportedly set to move to Al-Nassr, led by Cristiano Ronaldo. Laporte, a key figure for City, struggled for a starting spot last season, making 24 appearances. This led him to choose a switch to the Saudi Pro League, bolstering Al-Nassr’s defense under Ronaldo’s leadership.

Sergino Dest joins PSV Eindhoven on loan from Barcelona

FC Barcelona has confirmed that defender Sergino Dest is leaving on a season-long loan to PSV Eindhoven. The deal includes an option for a permanent purchase by PSV and a future sell-on percentage for Barcelona. Dest’s return from a disappointing loan at AC Milan didn’t lead to ample opportunities during Barcelona’s pre-season. Despite preferring a permanent move, Barcelona settled for another loan transfer. After negotiations, the 22-year-old right-back has joined PSV on loan with a purchase option reportedly worth €10 million. This move takes Dest back to his roots, playing for AFC Ajax’s main rivals in the Netherlands, aiming to rejuvenate his career following an underwhelming time at Barcelona since his 2020 arrival.

Manchester United eyeing Benfica’s Odysseas Vlachodimos

Manchester United is considering signing Benfica’s goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos before the transfer window closes, based on a tweet by Fabrizio Romano. Vlachodimos is likely to depart Benfica, and United’s move hinges on Dean Henderson’s potential exit. Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest are interested in Henderson. In the absence of David de Gea, United might pursue another goalkeeper if Henderson leaves. While Andre Onana remains the primary choice, Vlachodimos, a 29-year-old Greek international, excels in shot-stopping, distribution, and aerial play. Whether he’s willing to be a backup to Onana is uncertain. United might adopt a strategy like Arsenal’s, splitting game time between Onana and Vlachodimos, if the latter joins.

Manchester City make verbal offer to Jeremy Doku

Jeremy Doku is close to joining Manchester City from Rennes, as reported by Italian Journalist and Transfer Expert Fabrizio Romano. The Belgian winger, aged 21, has reportedly agreed to a deal worth £51 million, positioning him as a potential successor to Riyad Mahrez, who left for Al-Ahli. While Rennes is set to receive a club-record fee, surpassing Nayef Aguerd’s reported £30 million transfer to West Ham last year, Manchester City fans will be pleased with this relatively low-profile but effective deal. This move exemplifies why the treble-winning team is considered one of the best worldwide, both on and off the pitch. Doku’s arrival at the Etihad emphasizes City’s prowess in the football world.
