Liverpool will hope for a quick response after playing out a surprise draw away to Luton Town in the Premier League at the weekend. The Reds were expected to comfortably win that game, however, it was not how the match materialised. Hence, their supporters will be eager to see them get back to winning ways. However, it will not be easy against Toulouse in the Europa League. With the game happening away from home, the challenge becomes extra hard for the Merseyside outfit.

Jurgen Klopp on rotation

Ahead of the Europa League contest against Toulouse, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp spoke about his intention to rotate the squad. “That was always the idea. We could make changes [so far] and between the games we have to. As long as we can do it, and that’s what we did so far, but if you look at our games – all the games we played in the Europa League – they were really lively, got more and more fluent and we had really good football moments in all of the games. We were always a team who really was ready to go in a specific game,” Klopp, quoted by the club’s website, said during the pre-match press conference.

He added: “We had already a lot of games this season, so if you would have to play the same team all the time it is not possible. So, we could make the changes, we made the changes, we will make changes. I don’t know exactly how many for tomorrow, you will have to count, but it will be a few probably and it will be a strong team. That’s all I need and then we go for it. It has nothing to do with putting more emphasis on this competition or that competition, that is not the case. We just want to win football games and for that we need fresh legs and if we can give that to the team then we do that. Fresh legs with quality, obviously. That will be the same for tomorrow.”

Jurgen Klopp on Jarell Quansah

Klopp then shifted his attention to promising young centre-back Jarell Quansah. The youngster has been turning heads with his impressive performances so far this season. Klopp was asked whether he has been impressed with Quansah’s development. The Liverpool manager replied, “If you would have asked me in pre-season that he would have been that good I would have been surprised, but since then I have seen him every day and I am not surprised about it anymore because I know from the first day of pre-season how good a player he will be.”

He added: “So, yes, great to have a boy from our own Academy with that quality, with that potential, we will see where it will end up, but it’s really promising. He’s doing extremely well so far, it’s really cool as well, he’s good on the ball, aggressive in the challenges, has everything you need and a lot of space for improvement and development. That’s the best possible news for Liverpool. I am really happy he is here. There were obviously talks could he go on loan, he was on loan last year, can he go on loan again; we said no, so that was obviously a very good decision.”
