In the weeks and months leading up to a major football tournament, the conversation is often dominated by who will win. Another top debate is usually which player will score the most goals – and 2022 is no different. With the 2022 World Cup well in our sights, we have reviewed the top contenders for the top scorer this winter. Here they are:

1.) Lionel Messi

Most of the evidence suggests that this might be Messi’s time to shine and you can try out https://bonuscodeindia.com/1xbet-promo-code/ if you agree. Although he has had a difficult start at PSG, he and Argentina are in impressive form. He has 13 assists and 12 goals so far this season and is showing no signs of slowing down. He scored 9 goals for Argentina in their final three friendlies before the tournament and there is no reason his remarkable run should not win him the Golden Boot.

2.) Kylian Mbappe

Killian Mbappe led France to glory in Russia four years ago and he may be looking to do so this year too. While the Paris Saint-Germain debacle he is currently caught up in is not doing him any good in the press, he has managed to net 17 times this season. Defenders everywhere are frightened to go up against him and with good reason.

3.) Neymar

Paris Saint-Germain is in the midst of what seems to be never-ending internal politics and this may have affected Neymar’s performance to some extent. Consequently, playing for Brazil should provide him with welcome respite. The player is in excellent form and has scored 12 times and added 11 assists in all competitions so far. With Brazil among the favorites for the cup, Neymar is top on our list of contenders.

4.) Karim Benzema

Having recently won the Ballon d’Or for his exceptional form with Real Madrid, Karim Benzema is on every headline at the moment. He is set to make a comeback to France and has so far bagged six goals for his club this season. While he may not match his Los Blancos success, he is absolutely a man to watch. Experts currently consider him a reasonable contender for a top scorer.

5.) Harry Kane

England fans are not as excited about their prospects as they were a few months ago but Harry Kane is a force to reckon with on the field. This season, he has already racked up 10 PL goals and he seems to be in great shape. After Euro 2020, both he and England will be looking to restore their glory and Kane could very well be in the running for his second successive world cup Golden Boot.

6.) Cristiano Ronaldo

Although Ronaldo is not in his best form for Portugal, it is never wise to rule him out of any competition. The 36-year-old has pulled surprising comebacks before, taking home the crown on more than one occasion. Portugal are favorites for the latter stages of this World Cup and, should they get there, Ronaldo could very well be in the running for the Golden Boot.

Conclusion

Football fans are all abuzz about the upcoming FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Qatar. While we are all anxious to see who takes home the cup, it will also be exciting to see these players battle against each other for the Golden Boot.
