Bournemouth, on the other hand, lost out to Tottenham in the Premier League last time out courtesy of goals from James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski. The Cherries opened their 2023-24 campaign with a 1-1 draw against West Ham United on August 12, before suffering a 3-1 defeat away to Liverpool a week later. New coach Andoni Iraola is yet to taste his first competitive victory since arriving from Rayo Vallecano this summer, and Tuesday the Spaniard will have his first taste of the League Cup. Bournemouth have never won the EFL Cup and it will not be high on their list of priorities this season, with the team instead focusing of English top division.
