Spain will be coming up against South American giants, Colombia in their opening match of the FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup 2022. It should be an exciting and thrilling game with both the nations looking to commence their respective campaigns in the best possible manner. China and Mexico are the other two countries besides Spain and Colombia in group C.

Spain will be pretty satisfied with their recent form. They have managed five wins and a defeat in their last six matches. That one loss was a painful one in the final of the UEFA Under-17 Women’s Championship on penalties against Germany. However, Spain have responded well since then with three wins out of three. They will be looking to continue that run in the World Cup as well.
Colombia have been splendid in their recent matches winning five out of the last six. They too like Spain, suffered an agonizing defeat in their continental championship final, losing to Brazil in March. Colombia, however need to take inspiration from that run and try to convert that into the World Cup to enjoy a successful experience.
With this being the first match of the tournament, it won’t be a surprise if both the teams come out to the field with their strongest XIs. That will be the first step in going forward to get all the three points.
The FIFA Women’s Under-17 World Cup match between Spain and Colombia will take place at DY Patil Sports Stadium on Wednesday at 8:00 pm IST.
