The hosts are comfortably sitting at the top of the table, having taken a maximum of six points from two outings, while Changsuek are occupying the second position, with three points to their name, thanks to a 3-1 win over Singapore in November last year. Changsuek kicked off their qualifying campaign with a 2-1 loss to China at home, before securing an away-win against Singapore courtesy of Supachok Sarachat’s fifth-minute opener and Suphanat Mueanta’s second-half brace at Singapore National Stadium. After that, War Elephants went into the continental championship in Qatar, finishing second in Group F to progress to the last-16 stage, where they were beaten 2-1 by Uzbekistan.
