The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a 2-1 win over Juventus in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final tie on Thursday night, while Betis secured a 3-1 league-win over Rayo Vallecano last Monday.
Fresh from booking their place in the Europa League final, Sevilla will resume their La Liga duties on Sunday evening, when they host Real Betis for the latest edition of Seville derby at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a 2-1 win over Juventus in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final tie on Thursday night, while Betis secured a 3-1 league-win over Rayo Vallecano last Monday. As of now, the Red and Whites are occupying tenth spot in the Spanish top flight standings, having collected 47 points from 34 games, just three points adrift of the top seven. The visitors, meanwhile, are sitting at the fifth position with 55 points to their name, five shy of fifth-placed Villarreal, who have played a game more than the Greens.

After playing out a 1-1 draw in the away leg of the Europa League last-four tie in Turin, Sevilla came from a goal down to secure a 2-1 victory in the second leg and thereby secured a place in the showdown against Roma in Budapest later this month. Dusan Vlahovic’s 65th-minute effort sent the Old Lady ahead in the tie, but Suso’s stunning equaliser from outside the box and Lamela’s clinical header in the extra-time helped Jose Luis Mendilibar’s side secure the victory. The result extended Los Nervionenses’s unbeaten run to four games across all competitions, while winning three matches in the process. Meanwhile, last weekend, Los Palanganas secured their 13th league-win of the season against Real Valladolid courtesy of three unanswered goals in the second-half from Rafa Mir, Papu Gomez and Jesus Manuel Corona. Sevilla are currently sitting 18 points adrift of the top four, which means they will have to win the Europa League to be present in next season’s Champions League.
Betis, on the other hand, are comfortably holding on to the Europa League spot, courtesy of a five point lead over seventh-placed Athletic Bilbao, who only have three games left to play. The Green and whites defeated Rayo last time out thanks to goals from Youssouf Sabaly, Ayoze Perez and Borja Iglesias. It was their 16th top-flight victory of the season and Manuel Pellegrini’s men have now picked up a maximum of six points from their last two league-games. Los Verdiblancos can still mathematically make the top four, but they are seven points behind fourth-placed Real Sociedad and with just four games remaining, a lot would have to change over the next couple of weeks.
Sevilla probable starting lineup: Dmitrovic, Montiel, Bade, Rekik, Telles, Rakitic, Gueye, Lamela, Torres, Gomez, Mir
Real Betis probable starting lineup: Bravo, Ruibal, Pezzella, Gonzalez, Miranda, Rodriguez, Guardado, Henrique, Canales, Perez, Iglesias
