Colchoneros have won only one of their last four league-games, getting the better of Sevilla 1-0 before the Christmas break. Meanwhile, on their return to action on January 3, Simeone’s men lost 3-2 against surprise title-challengers Girona (4-3) in the top flight despite the fact that Alvaro Morata netted a hat-trick.
