The victory helped Los Verdiblancos to climb to seventh spot in the Spanish top flight standings, collecting 12 points from eight matches. The Andalusian outfit will now aim to build on that dominant display with their first points of the continental campaign on home turf on Thursday.
Sparta Prague, on the other hand, secured a thrilling 3-2 win over Aris in their Europa League group stage opener last month. Although it was the Cyprus outfit who took the lead through Aleksandr Kokorin’s 11th-minute opener from the penalty spot, Sparta fought back to score two goals in the next 15 minutes through Ladislav Krejci’s brace. Martin Vitik’s 67th-minute effort gave a two goal cushion to Iron Sparta, while Shavy Babicka’s 90th-minute attempt proved to be just a consolation goal for the visitors. The Reds then played out a 1-1 league-draw at Slavia Prague before recording back-to-back wins over Lisen and Plzen in the Czech Cup and top flight respectively. Goals from Qazim Laci and Jan Kuchta helped the Maroons collect all three points against Plzen, move to 26 points from eight matches, two points clear of second-placed Slavia Prague in the Czech First League standings.
