Manchester United are considering selling Paul Pogba this summer as they risk losing him for free next season. The Frenchman’s contract with the Red Devils expires next year. And according to reports Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the 28-year-old. It is understood that Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola is discussing personal terms with PSG. The French club believe they can sign the midfielder for around GBP 43 million. Pogba’s current contract is worth GBP 290,000-a week and he has given no indication that he is interested in signing a new contract.

Pogba joined Manchester United from Juventus in 2016 for a world record fee of GBP 89 million. Meanwhile Juventus paid United just GBP800,000 when they signed him in 2012.

Manchester United now have to decide whether to keep the Frenchman and risk losing him for free next season. Or if they should sell him before August 31 and recoup some of the money they had spent on him.

PSG are one of the few clubs who could afford the Frenchman, although it is understood that there hasn’t been any contact between the two clubs so far.

Pogba is currently holidaying in Florida after the Euro 2020 and is due to return next week for the pre-season training.

Who replaces Paul Pogba?

The midfielder was signed by United with great expectation but unfortunately he hasn’t managed to deliver as expected.

For the world class talent he is, he hasn’t been able to deliver world class performance on a consistent basis. The Frenchman managed to register 5 goals and 6 assists for United last season.

United brought in Donny Van de beek last summer as a cover for Pogba, in case he left and they are now linked with a number of midfielders including Declan Rice, Saul Niguez and Eduardo Camavinga.

Asked about the situation last month, he said: ‘I have one year left on my contract, everyone knows that. There have been no concrete proposals for extensions. I’m still in Manchester.’

There is also likely to be interest from Spain and Italy for the Frenchman who has repeatedly been linked with Real Madrid.
