The Ligue 1 is set to resume following the international break as Paris Saint-Germain play host to Monaco at Parc des Princes on Friday evening. The hosts are currently occupying top spot in the French top flight standings, having collected 27 points from 12 matches, just a solitary point clear of second-placed Nice and three away from their upcoming visitors, who are at the third position. The Parisians thrashed Reims 3-0 in their last outing on November 11, while the visitors played out a goalless draw against Le Havre last time out.

PSG saw their five-game winning run come to an end after a 2-1 defeat to AC Milan in the Champions League on November 7. However, the Parisians quickly bounced back with a dominant league victory at Reims last tome out thanks to Kylian Mbappe’s hat-trick. It was their eighth top flight victory of the campaign and the result helped Luis Enrique’s side to rise to their rightful place at the summit of the table. After playing catchup in the early stages, PSG have now won five consecutive league games, scoring 15 goals and keeping three clean sheets in the period. Meanwhile, Enrique’s side have won each of their last five games across all competitions at Parc des Princes, scoring five goals and conceding none in the process.

Monaco, on the other hand, haven’t been at their best on the road, taking just nine points from a possible 18 so far. The Red and Whites shared the spoils away to Le Havre last time out despite having close to 65% ball possession. Prior to that, Adi Hutter’s side secured their seventh league-win against Brest thanks to two unanswered goals from Denis Zakaria and Aleksandr Golovin. From scoring 12 goals in their first four top flight games on the road this term, Les Monegasques have now drawn blanks in back-to-back matches in rival territory. Meanwhile, Monaco have not lost to PSG in their last three encounters, recording two wins at Stade Louis, while the lone draw came at Parc des Princes in 2022.
