Osasuna had a mixed pre-season, recording four wins, three defeats and one draw in seven friendlies. In their recent outing against Mirandes, Darko Brasanac and Robert Ibanez netted for Jagoba Arrasate’s side to secure the win. Los Rojillos have signed Moi Gomez, Manu Sanchez, Aitor Fernandez and Ruben Pena this summer to bolster their squad. Meanwhile there have been notable departures in the shape of Cote, Pier Sanjurjo, Robert Ibanez and Marc Cardona.
Sevilla, on the other hand, have completed the signing of Spanish midfielder Isco from Real Madrid on a free transfer. Julen Lopetegui’s side participated in six friendlies this summer, registering three wins, two defeats and one draw. In their last match against Cadiz, Thomas Delaney’s lone strike was enough to separate the two sides. Las Nervionenses have qualified for this year’s UEFA Champions League, and would be hoping to challenge high up the division this season. Meanwhile, the departure of highly rated defenders Jules Kounde and Diego Carlos to Barcelona and Aston Villa respectively, is a big blow to Sevilla.
Osasua have some injury concerns as the likes of Kike Saveiro, Aitor Fernandez and Ante Budimir are all set to miss the contest. New recruits Gomez, Sanchez and Pena are set to make their competitive debuts for the new club. Kike Garcia could lead the line with Ruben Garcia and Ezeguel Avila in support. As for Sevilla, Isco is likely to feature at some point in the match on Friday. Ivan Rakitic is expected to pull the strings in the midfield alongside Delaney and Jordan. Rafa Mir could be the target-man up front with Jesus Corona and Ocampos occupying the flanks.
Osasuna probable starting lineup: Herrera; Pena, U Garcia, D Garcia, Sanchez; Brasabac, Torro, M Gomez; R Garcia, Kike Gargia, Avila
Sevilla probable starting lineup: Bounou; Navas, Marcao, Rekik, Telles; Delaney, Rakitic, Jordan; Ocampos, Rafa Mir, corona.
The La Liga match between Osasuna and Sevilla will take place at El Sadar on Saturday at 12:30 am IST.
