Real Sociedad will be looking to complete a La Liga-double over Osasuna when they travel to El Sadar on Friday night. La Real defeated Osasuna 2-0 in the reverse fixture in December last year thanks to goals from Brais Mendez and Alexander Sorloth. Meanwhile, the hosts are heading into the match on the back of a narrow 1-0 win away to Cadiz on Tuesday evening, while Real Sociedad played out a goalless draw against Real Betis. The victory helped Los Rojillos to move to eighth spot in the Spanish top flight standings, having collected 44 points from 31 games, Just three points adrift of sixth-placed Villarreal, who have a game in hand. The visitors, meanwhile, are sitting at the fourth position, with 55 points to their name, six clear of fifth-placed Betis.

Osasuna secured all three points against Cadiz last time out thanks to Ruben Garcia’s lone goal in the second-half. It was their second consecutive win and 12th La Liga-victory of the season. Having collected nine points from their last four outings, Jagob Arrasate’s side are now in a strong position to challenge of a European spot. Meanwhile, Osasuna’s home-form this term as been bit inconsistent, having recorded eight wins from 15 top flight matches.

Real Sociedad, on the other hand, have won 16 top flight games this season and their recent success came against Rayo Vallecano (2-1) last weekend courtesy of Sorloth’s equaliser pn the hour mark and Floria Lejeune’s own goal nine minutes from time. After that, La Real shared the spoils against their nearest challengers Betis at Benito Villamarin on Tuesday night. Despite taking just seven points from their last five games, Imanol Alguacil’s side remain in pole position to claim a spot in the Champions League for next season. Meanwhile, White-Blue have been strong on their travels, taking 27 points from a possible 45 so far.
