On Saturday, Norwich City clinched promotion to the Premier League with five games to spare after Brentford and Swansea failed to win their Championship matches, ensuring Daniel Farke’s league leaders one of the automatic promotion places.

After finishing last in the Premier League in the 2019-20 season, Norwich secured an immediate return to the top flight. While most teams relegated from the Premier League make drastic changes the following season, Norwich stuck with Farke and the core group that led them to promotion in 2018-19.

Following last season’s relegation, Daniel Farke’s side has dominated the second tier, winning 27 of their 41 games and securing an immediate return to the Premier League.

Third-placed Swansea were kept to a 2-2 draw by bottom-placed Wycombe, while fourth-placed Brentford drew 0-0 with Millwall, ensuring the Canaries’ promotion.

Norwich leads Swansea by 14 points with four games remaining, and Brentford by 16 points with five games remaining.

They’re still eight points ahead of second-placed Watford, who were defeated 1-0 by local rivals Luton on Saturday.

Norwich City took on AFC Bournemouth on Saturday night, lost 1-3 after Dimitris Giannoulis was shown a red card in the first half. A hard loss to celebrate their promotion to the top tier.

Norwich moved to the top of the table with a 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough in November after picking up four points in their first four games. They haven’t looked back since.

Teemu Pukki, their Finland striker, has rediscovered his form this season, scoring 25 goals and adding three assists in 37 league appearances.
