Manchester United ended their six-year trophy drought last season, defeating Newcastle United 2-1 in the showdown to lift the EFL title. Meanwhile, Ten Hag’s men also secured a bronze medal finish in the Premier League table, behind Arsenal and Manchester City. The Wanderers finished their pre-season unbeaten, recording three wins and two draws from five friendlies, and will be hoping to cause an upset in their league-opener on Monday.
