A manager-less Leeds United have a difficult challenge at hand when they travel to Old Trafford for a Premier League fixture against Manchester United. Erik ten Hag’s side are one of the in-form teams in the division and their home form in particular has been supremely impressive. This is the last fixture Leeds would want to play considering their off-the-pitch matters. The visitors parted ways with manager Jesse Marsch following their 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest at the weekend.

Leeds United are currently in big trouble, as they are inching ever closer to the relegation zone. Whoever replaces Marsch as their manager faces a difficult task to keep the club away from the relegation zone. It is unclear who their next manager will be but they must turn the tide around quickly with some quick results but that will be a difficult challenge for them. This will be the first of two Premier League meetings between these two sides in the span of a few days.

On the other hand, Manchester United will be keen to extend their impressive winning run at Old Trafford to 14 games in all competitions if they can get past Leeds United on Wednesday night. Form is on United’s side, which is clear by their superior league position. Sitting third in the standings, Man United have 42 points from 21 matches. On the other hand, Leeds United are sitting above 18th placed Everton only due to goal difference. Leeds are lying at the 17th spot in the standings with 18 points from 20 games.

Manchester United vs Leeds United: Premier League Records, Stats, Goals at Old Trafford

Manchester United and Leeds United have a rich history between them. They have competed against each other on multiple occasions over the years in several competitions. Their rivalry was also an interesting one in the division with a lot of intriguing games happening between them. However, that rivalry has lost its spark in recent years, with United becoming the overwhelming favourites in those clashes.

A total of 14 matches have happened between these two sides in the Premier League at Old Trafford. Manchester United – as expected – won the majority of them with 10. Surprisingly though Leeds United did not win a single one of those games, as the remaining four matches ended in draws. The last time they played each other at Old Trafford in the league was in 2021 when Manchester United thumped Leeds United 5-1.
