Manchester City will take on Chelsea in a high voltage clash at the Etihad stadium on Saturday. The Premier League leaders can seal the title with a victory against the Thomas Tuchel side. The Blues are in a tight race for the top-four and could overtake Leicester in to third place with a victory at Etihad. Both the teams enter Champions League final after victories in the mid-week semi-final fixtures.

Manchester City outplayed PSG 2-0 to reach their first Champions League final. Chelsea beat Real Madrid 2-0 at the Stamford Bridge to enter their first Final since winning the title in 2012. Manchester City‘s Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez scored three goals in the 4-1 aggregate win over the French side and will be looking to continue his good form against Chelsea to help City seal the title with three games remaining.

“We want to win to become champions but they also want to win because they want to finish fourth. The pressure will be more on them,” Mahrez said, as per Manchester Evening News.

‘Premier League most important title for Manchester City’

Manchester City will play aginst Chelsea in the Champions League on May 29th in Istanbul. Pep Guardiola will be hoping to seal the title as soon as possible and concentrate on the Continental cup.

“Always I’ve said the Premier League is the most important title,”he added.

“Financially for the club, qualification for the Champions League is the most important title. Maybe, but there is no doubt what is the most important thing.

“Of course the Champions League is so special, it’s nice, but this one means consistency and many things.”

“First of all congratulations to Chelsea for reaching the final. They put in a good performance against the kings of this competition Real Madrid,” Guardiola said. “If we were playing [the final] in one week or six days, it could be [an advantage] but there’s 21 days and many things can happen.

UEFA Champions League spot at stake for Chelsea

Chelsea will have a chance to overtake Leicester City in to the third place as the Foxes lost 4-2 against Newcastle on Friday. West Ham, Liverpool and Tottenham are lurking just behind Chelsea in the Champions League qualification race. So, every point from now on is very important. Chelsea had beaten Man City in the FA Cup semifinal to end their dreams of a quadruple.

Manchester City are on top of the League table with 80 points from 34 games, 13 point ahead of second placed Manchester United who have a game in hand. City could also seal their fifth title in ten years if United lose against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Chelsea are placed fourth in the table with 61 points from 34 games, three points away from fifth placed West Ham United and two points adrift Leicester City.
