Currently sitting at the bottom of Group J, Libya, who last appeared in the AFCON in 2012, now aims to finish the qualifiers on a positive note.

Equatorial Guinea claimed the top position in the group in their last outing with an impressive 1-0 victory over group favorites Tunisia at the Nuevo Estadio de Malabo. Veteran striker Emilio Nsue, who now has 15 international goals, secured the win with an 85th-minute penalty, extending his lead as the nation’s all-time leading scorer. After their 4-0 defeat to Tunisia in the group opener, Equatorial Guinea has won all four subsequent matches, scoring eight goals and keeping three clean sheets. They currently lead Group J, holding a two-point advantage over Tunisia, and will aim to secure the top spot in Wednesday’s match, considering Tunisia’s superior goal difference. Equatorial Guinea is confident about their chances, especially as they have won the last three encounters against Libya, dating back to a 3-0 victory in January 2018.
